License Already Imported
URI: https://docs.ankatech.co/errors/license-already-imported
HTTP Status: 409 Conflict
When you see this
A license with the same licenseId has already been imported into this installation. The import was refused and nothing new was stored; the license imported earlier is unchanged.
Every license carries a licenseId that ANKATech generates when it issues the license, and each license is imported once. A renewal is a new license with a new licenseId, not a second import of the same file.
Common Causes
- The same
license.ankalicfile was imported twice — for example a retry after the first import answered502from the Admin API, which does not prove the license was not imported. - Two imports of the same file were sent at the same time. Exactly one of them is stored; the other receives this refusal.

"title": "License already imported",
"status": 409,
"detail": "This license has already been imported. Each license is imported once; a renewal is a new license.",

}
Content-Type: application/problem+json — the response follows RFC 9457 Problem Details.
Raised by the License Server, relayed by the Admin API
The import is POST /api/v3/admin/platform/license/import on the Admin API, which forwards the artifact to the licence server over a service-to-service call; the licence server is the only validator of the artifact and raises this refusal. The Admin API relays its type, title, detail and status unchanged and sets its own instance and extensions.requestId. Correlate a request by extensions.requestId.
How to Resolve
- Read the license on Platform → License (
GET /api/v3/admin/platform/license). If its license ID is the one in your file, the license is already in effect and nothing more is needed. - If you meant to renew, ask ANKATech for a new license issued from this installation's activation request; it carries a new
licenseId.
