Cancel a quorum recovery
Stop a recovery the platform scheduled for your tenant's quorum policy, so the policy stays as it is.
Who can do it
A tenant administrator: cancelling needs the permission to manage the quorum policy, which only the tenant administrator role holds. Other members who can read the policy see the scheduled recovery without the button.
A platform administrator acting in your tenant under support access cannot cancel it.
Before you start
- When your quorum policy reads Degraded, too few approvers remain to decide requests. Your platform operator can then recover it: a second platform administrator approves, and the recovery takes effect 72 hours later. When it does, your quorum policy is deleted, so quorum approval is off, and the requests waiting under it are cancelled.
- Cancel only if you can keep the policy working: give enough active members the permission to approve, so the policy is no longer degraded. A cancelled recovery leaves the policy exactly as it is.
Steps
- Open Policies and, on the Quorum approval card, select Open quorum approval.
- In the Policy panel, read The platform scheduled a recovery of this policy: when it takes effect and the reason the platform gave.
- Select Cancel the recovery, and confirm with Cancel the recovery in the dialog.
The console may ask you to confirm who you are first: Confirm your identity to continue opens with your own sign-in steps, and the cancellation is sent once you confirm.
What you see when it worked
The console shows The platform recovery was cancelled; the policy stays as it is. The scheduled recovery notice disappears, and the policy keeps its approvals, its operations and its waiting requests. The cancellation is recorded in your tenant's audit trail.
If it fails
| What you see | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No Cancel the recovery button | You lack the permission to manage the quorum policy | Ask a tenant administrator |
| The cancellation is refused because no recovery is scheduled | The recovery already took effect, or was cancelled meanwhile | Reload the screen to see the policy's current state |
| The cancellation is refused under impersonation | A platform administrator is acting in the tenant under support access | A tenant administrator cancels it |
Without the console
| Surface | How |
|---|---|
| Key management CLI | No command |
| Admin SDK | Not available |
| API | DELETE /api/v3/admin/tenants/{tenantId}/quorum/policy/recovery (operation cancelTenantQuorumRecovery) |
