License Source Is Not A License File

When you see this

The deployment is entitled through its AWS Marketplace subscription, not through a licence file, so it takes no licence file and produces no activation request. Two operations answer this problem:

  • the licence import, POST /api/v3/admin/platform/license/import;
  • the activation request, GET /api/v3/admin/platform/license/activation-request.

Nothing was written. The detail names the deployment's licence source.

The licence source is chosen when the environment is created and cannot be changed afterwards: no API, setting, console screen or administration command changes it.

Why 409

Nothing about the request is malformed. The deployment's state, its licence source, makes the operation inapplicable, and repeating it changes nothing.

Raised by the License Server, relayed by the Admin API

The licence server raises this refusal; the Admin API relays its type, title, detail and status unchanged and sets its own instance and extensions.requestId.

How to Resolve

Nothing needs resolving. An AWS Marketplace deployment is entitled automatically while it runs on an instance launched from the subscribed ANKASecure AMI: billing, the free trial and charges are managed in AWS. Read the entitlement status with GET /api/v3/admin/platform/license, or on the console's License screen.

To run ANKASecure under a licence file that ANKATech signs for your installation instead, create the environment with that licence source.
